no they are different... i took the green one out of a b16 and it was covered in what looked like a mixture of oil and coolant... so it reads temerature from a liquid the sensor (in the exact location) on the 94+ block is a single plug with two wires that looks like a knock sensor that is just metal that screws into metal... im really perplexed with this whole fuckin thing.... That sensor with the green plug is an ls only oil temp sensor which isnt necessary. That sensor goes into an oil passage. Under the water pipe look for a plug and unscrew it the ect sensor screws into that one which is a coolant passage.
