See, that doesn't really mean anything other than your a really good driver/know the course or the other guy is a poor driver that isn't familiar with the track. That's why auto-x is hard to measure a car's ability because it's all in the driver.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not any kind of car hater, I like anything fast ... in whatever type of driving it is.
I suppose we are arguing the same point, I guess what I am trying to say is...that a good driver in a SVT Focus can still be competitive against a good driver in a Mustang Cobra on a course with turns.
While unequal in straight line performance, on a roadcourse the little SVTF can hold its own. So while 170 HP is not "whoping" in the power department (but is plenty adequate for it's weight), the SVT Focus is certainly whoping in the handeling and braking department. This coupled with its high reving engine and close ratio tranny is what makes it "fast" on a course.
Too many people pigeon-hole a car into a slow category just because it sucks at the strip.
Thats why I say fast is relative. But then thats what slow car drivers always say, right?
