Default ive got a problem here

ok, for a while now ive noticed the car getting low (about 1/2qt) on oil about once a month....and for a while i was fearing it may have been piston rings, but i think i realized what it is/was whatever....

my PCV valve thingy on the driver's side head has oil caked on all around it (just noticed it now since i havent been under the hood lately till yesterday) so i assume that means the valve seals are going/gone? right? or am i missing the boat all together?

is there anything i can do for now (until i can get the heads off or do a head swap) to stop the leak? heavier oil? synthetic oil? something?
