When I lived in Chicago, I had a 99 Chrysler cirrus I used for sales calls. I was driving it to a ski hill in wisconsin on some backroads, and the ex GF was with me. Cruising on farm roads in the dark can be entertaining enough, but as I drove down this road at about 60 I saw a car coming my way..... at least I thought it was, turns out the road had a 90 degree bend and this guy was sitting at a driveway at the bend. I couldn't see any markings at the bend because his headlights were so bright, and there were no markings for the turn....
Needless to say when I saw the turn in the last 80 feet or so, I grabbed the brake, cranked the wheel, and when I hit the apex nailed the gas hoping my foot hit China.... ass end swung out into the mixed road / gravel on the side, but being FWD the front tires kept screaming for the blacktop it pulled the car around the turn. Bo and Luke had nothin for me!!!
To this day that was probably the wildest, freakiest thing I have done in a car.....in better conditions I would have called it fun even.... Regardless, I got lucky, If I were not as experienced a driver and not had luck on my side, I could have easily have been headfirst into a fence / tree / the other car / etc....
Live and learn..... at least you weren't doing burnouts in a parking lot, or driving like a jackass in a pack of 20 cars.....
