Ok here is what the shop is telling me. The EGR recirculates cool air to the top of the pistons so that the piston doesnt over heat and crack . I also thought that it only had to do with emmisions but they are telling me something different. I think they just really fucked up and want to cover themselves big time. That's why they are blaming it on the EGR. Even in theory if that were to happen, it should not happen only after 97 miles. If I knew this was going to be such a problem I would not have gone to this place. I only went due to the warranty it came with.
