Actual cold-air intakes (like the AireTek) do actually work but is the $200+ price tag worth it? Thats up to you. A K&N panel filter is proven to give a few hp with no noticeable losses. Just dont mod the air box too much. The factory air channel (behind the headlight) works well. If anything just mod the inside of the airbox. Bottom line a cold-air intake will give you more power than a drop-in filter but it will cost more too.
