As for the install if you have the tools and the work wont be a big deal go for it and throw in a good clutch while you are it.
When shifting, revs always "fall" the same ammount, thats because at a given speed and a given gear.. RPM's are still the same.. For example.. with or without a light fly wheel.. if u shift outta second at 6800rpm and like 58mph.. you'll end up at 4200 or so at 58mph in 3rd... speed in a gear has nothing to do with horsepower, flywheels, or anything besides transmission gear ratios, final drive ratios, and over all wheel+tire circumference..
