yea.... i thought my car would do fine w/ a resurfaced head too... but guess what, it didnt. and yea, i used the 190k PSI ARP head bolts, torqued down to 85 lb/ft using Moly lube on the threads, the bolt head and the washer. and that bitch still blew, it blew worse than it did the first time.
i tried to take the easy way out. this time, everything is getting machined properly and im using the best headgasket readily available and the best fasteners you can get...generally speaking.
and im preparing it for 800-900 BHP. im sure you all laugh at me and mock me... but how much HP have JE forged pistons been known to handle? How much HP have you heard of shot-peened steel rods handling? How much HP have you heard of the stock crank handling? better yet... have you ever heard of Shot peened rods, JE pistons and stock 7M cranks causing catastrophic failures at high HP levels? trust me, overkill is the way to go. thats why i have 4 AWG cable running my fuel pump
