I tried it once just for kicks, using the stock 1g bov. I had to hold the revs above 2500 or it would just stall out. Made a nice "whoosh" noise when I let off the throttle in boost, not squeaks or chirps or whistle to it, just rushing air. Sounded neat until I put the tube back on 3 minutes later. I don't miss the noise. I'll probably replace the 1g unit with a type-s at some point, recirculate that as well. I want to max out my planned evo III setup, and that's going to involve running more than the 18-20 psi I've read even crushed 1g's will start leaking at.
