Default 1996 mustang gt question...

ok, so monday i bought a 4.6L gt coupe, it was pretty nice, come to realize on the way home, smoke is coming out from under the hood. seems to be spraying coolant in the engine bay. so i get home, and take a look around trying to find out what was goin on...so then my friend gets over to my house, and we both found a crack in the intake manifold...well...apparently, ford had a recall on 96-98 mustangs. the recall was for the intake manifold getting fatigue cracks in em, and eventually leaking shite all over the place...so heres my question... since walker ford wants $600 for the intake manifold, and $500 for the work. and since my car was a year over that warraty or whatever, they wouldn't do it unless i paid for it...what kind of intake manifold should i get? OEM or aftermarket? and are they hard to install? i know out of all these ford drivers...someone can help me out with some advice and info. and how much of a difference is the oem and the aftermarket parts? shit...with $1100 that could get me a nice exhaust and intake put on, but no...this shit had to break on me instead. any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks...
