Default check this out...

ok, so the lady told me that back in 98, the part was replaced...however, when i went to walker ford, they said it was NOT replaced and that the recall was still open. but then they called me and said the car was no longer under warranty, so they couldnt do it for free. so the lady called the original dealership that did the original recall change on the intake manifold, and she thinks they installed a used part, meaning she could sue the shit out of them if they did, and it wasnt recorded...all in all, someone's fux0r3d

well the way im seeing it is that it's your lower intaje manifold, the only real good aftermarket intake for the 96-98 2v is the reicard racing manifold but it is like $1500 and not really a wise choise for a street car. what i would do is go and get a shop manual and change the lower intake myself, its not really that hard is you take your time and do everything to the best and not half-ass anything.

also i have already invested in the PI head swap for my car but if you do the swap you are looking at aboput $2000 for the heads and new intake and about 50rwhp. also the new heads are ALOT better than the 96-98 which are pretty much impossible to make good power out of. if you plan on making any real good power then you might as well do the head swap, but if not just replace the intake and throw on a blower!!!!!

I hope you are talking about new parts for $2000. You can find used p.i heads and intake for less than $600.

you could do the pi swap for about 1k-ish using used heads and intake.......

what i would do if you do not want to pay that much is get the intake from a ford website at cost or ask around for one, take it to a smaller local shop that is going to charge you 35 an hr for labor instead of the dealerships 80 an hr.........

or you could do it yourself if you are decent with tools/mechanics........

best bet would be to get the 99up intake now if possible..... i think they are like $240 new, swap it on and save for the PI heads or just leave it.........

as far as the fitment of the 99 up intake i dunno what is involved but i'm sure it is possible.......... hell for 1K you can get a whole new PI motor, so it all depends on where you go and who you talk to........

yes all new heads, cams and intake.

also about the only sifferance on the 99+ heads is the PCV fitting, and the oil fill cap is on the passenger side instead of drivers
