I'm getting closer and closer to purchasing a new vehicle and am looking to let my beater go for cheap. This is a running and driving car. It only left me stranded one time and that was because a bad alternator which was replaced the next day. This car is in rough shape but has lots of potential, I just don't want to be the one to shine it up.

Clean title. Runs and drives, just needs maintenance and some tlc.

Paint and body 5/10. It's all one color... kind of. Hood is a different shade of red than the rest of the car. The only body damage is on the trunk and it isn't terrible. I'm sure someone that has done body work could fix it easily, I'm just not that guy.

Motor/Tranny 5/10(Motor) 8/10(tranny). According to the previous owner the tranny was rebuilt and you can feel it. Shifts smooth and the clutch feels good. I honestly wouldn't worry about the tranny at all. The engine however will need some maintenance. There is an exhaust leak in the engine bay. The engine will try and start, hesitate, then fire right up. I drive this car DAILY to and from work as my only means of transportation. It gets the job done. The only real issue with the engine is the idle. It doesn't like to idle on it's own. I'm lazy and don't know how to fix it so I just hold my foot on the gas pedal ever so lightly to keep it going. Get the idle fixed and do some general maintenance and I'm sure this would be a solid driver.

Wheels/tires/suspension. 5/10. Wheels are in good condition (stock I think). Front right tire needs to be replaced. Previous owner let it go without an alignment for a while creating a balding spot. The others are all good. Suspension is pretty good (stock). Brakes will need to be replaced. It still pulls to the right a little bit even after I had an alignment done. There is a weird wobble/thump from the right front wheel area. Not sure what this is. The only time you hear it is when the top is up. I rarely drive with the top up (only time it's up is when it's raining) so it's not as annoying as you would think. The firestone guy that did the alignment said it might be resolved with a new tire, but that's his word not mine.

Interior 2/10. The interior is shit. The drivers seats will need to be replaced, the back seats will need to be cleaned, maybe replaced. Door panels are ok, no rips or tears. Convertible top will need to be replaced. It leaks under moderate rain, and you will get soaked under heavy rain. The back glass has a 3-5 inch slit on top where it's separating from the glass. The mechanical portion of the top is in good condition. Opens and closes without any problems and the j-hooks latch and unlatch without issue. The dash and center console portion are in pretty good condition. Has the three gauges in front of the shifter and they all work. The cluster gauge works... Speedo works all the time but the tach will sometimes stop working. I'm not sure what the deal is with it, but I bang my iphone against it and it works again. The car has a cd player installed. I'm not sure if the cd portion works as I don't own any cd's but the radio works fine. For some reason if you turn it up past 32, it will randomly go off. Maybe it's sucking too much power? Idk. Keep it under 32 and you wont have issues.

138k miles. 8k more than I posted in the title. My bad, but I don't think 8k miles is going to be a deal breaker lol.


Brand new alternator. Less than a year old. Also battery was replaced when I bought the alt.

Cool. I'm not far from fossil park. Pass it every day on the way to work. I'm not posting this in the general car for sale as I want a true enthusiast to pick it up.

 

damn i always wanted one of these if it was a week or two ago i would have bought it instead i bought a civic hatch and the timing belt snapped on it a week later lol glws man if anything changes ill hit you up trying to sell the civic now

 

It's fun as shit to drive with the top off. I know I'm going to miss it but I just don't have the ability to make it nice. Lmk if you sell the civic and want to look at this.
