Do you happen to know if it's still an expensive swap to go from the TT A/T to the getreg 6sp? I know it's a pricey deal starting with an N/A 5spd or A/T and going to the 6sp + rear-end
I've been wondering if the TT A/T is less of a hassle since it might have the stronger rear-end (driveshaft, rear diff, etc)? I'm still new to the whole Supra dealio, but i'm trying to learn before i jump into it..

A Toyota parts rep. priced the auto-TT swap at just over $10K. That's assuming buying all brand new parts through him (he's got the best prices by far on Toyota parts). The tranny itself is $6K, so buying a used tranny (~$2500-$3K) saves a few grand, as well as getting used driveshafts, and whatever else you can get your hands on. This price was for doing a very complete and thorough swap, so I'm pretty sure it included the rear end, as well as a clutch. That misc. bullshit adds up, though.
As far as rear ends go, I THINK the auto rears are the same on NA and TT cars, which are fairly stout, and should be enough for decent power levels, however the ratios are surely different.

You're quote of around $10k for the complete swap sounds right, especially according to:
93.5-98 TT AUTO to 6 SPEED SWAP PARTS LIST - www.FloridaSupras.com
which i found in Kirk's post:

It's all $$$
