wrong, the r154 and w58 are diff lengths and have diff output splines. so if its a manual, he needs one for a turbo.

the only difference ive EVER seen is an auto and manual length difference. and ive used a "r154 only" driveshaft with a w58

what splines are you talking about? its a slip yoke into the back of the tranny.

either way im sure what he needs is a turbo manual one. lol..

r154 and w58 do have slip yokes, and guess what, the inside of that slip yoke is SPLINED! they fit the splines on the out put of the trans, and yes they ARE diff for w58 and r154. if you dont beleive me i can take you to my storage unit and set an r154 on the ground right next to a w58 and can hand you a drive shaft for both and you can try it yourself and you will see that they are in fact diff. and you can measure their lengths if you like. the r154 is 2in longer.

actually, you prolly used an auto one. the auto output splines are the same as one of the manual trannies. dont remember which one as ive never had a a340e or the driveshaft for it to try.

no it was definitley an r154 one as i pulled it myself.

also the auto driveshafts are a different length as the manual ones they are longer so it wouldnt have fit.

sooooo bottom line... get this kid a TURBO MANUAL DRIVESHAFT
