Default FS: 85 celica GT auto

1985 Celica GT coupe, auto, last year of the RWD. It was my daily driver for the past year until the ignitor quit quit on me while driving down the road. I did plugs, wires, cap/rotor, new thick batt cables, new battery but its the ignitor not firing. I have 86 supra wheels on the rear w/ new tires, steelies w/ good tires on front since i never got around to getting new tires put on the supra wheels. Runs real good, needs front brake work and a decent paint job. It is a GT, not the GT-S with the independent rear susp. 2.25" cat-back w/ glasspack, k&n drop-in. Speedo cable stopped turning sometime last fall, so im not sure how many miles it has, but when i got it the 22re reman engine had ~60k on it, chassis ~166k. I'm tired of looking at it sitting in the driveway, I need money for my 408w hotrod lincoln project, $700 obo

Send me an email, I work 3rd shift so I probably wont answer the phone during normal hours 352-342-0030 or phayzer5@hotmail.com

Pics when i first got it:

Heres a pic of the supra wheels with the good Fuzion HRi's on the rear after playin on some mud puddles

those look like the 15x6 ltype supra wheels or the 14x6 van wheels. prolly the 14x6's. the 14x6's up front and the 14x7 p-type wheels out back wuld look good on that car. i know someone that might be interested. ill let you know.

they are both 15" L-type "flat" wheels. It just has huge 205/60's in back and the bald 195/50's in front makin it look goofy. I painted two of them but got too busy to paint the other two. 3 coats of graphite wheel paint and a coat of clear. Just to clarify I'm not interested in any trades either, unless its a flatbed trailer to fit my lincoln on, I need the cash

*edit* forgot to mention earlier, there's a set of Optilux/Hella 2020's mounted in the airdam, manual windows and locks, and the heat works but no a/c (I just drove faster with the windows down )

Thats all i can think of that hasnt been replaced. There wasnt any sputtering when it died on me, its just like the car had a lightswitch someone flipped. I can go out there right now and the car will turnover all day long but wont fire and run.

i would post pics but its the small cbl attached to the larger one that moves when you move the gas pedal... mine was dead for a year and i looked at the engine top to bottom.... betcha its that cbl thats broken... either a wire connector or a new one alltogether from lkq (formerly known as couphers.) would hate to see a 3rd gen celica owner split from his ride over a stupid little 50 cent cbl... i just totaled my 86 hatch so from takeing it apart ive learned much... hope this helps....

Its not that I want to split from my ride cause it doesnt run. Its just that I dont have use for the car anymore. I have an 02 ram for a daily driver and tow vehicle for me '84 race/street Town Car. I have the celica and another 89 Town Car i need to get rid of to free up driveway space and to ge the money i need to finish building the motor. 408 ci and 500+ hp isnt too cheap I'll check out that cable this weekend. I also might have an ignitor coming from one of the guys on the celica-gts boards so I'll see if one of those 2 things fixed the no-start condition.

I got the used ignitor, installed it and now it runs. Took it for a spin around the block and it runs good. The fluids could probaly use a good flush from sitting for a few months. The headlights didnt flip up when i tested them but they did when i parked it, i didnt get a chance to look further into it tonight. The manual adjusters are there so they can be used if need be. I took my cd player out and put the old one that came with the car back in, so ya just need to hook the harnesses back up and go.

Hand me $600, I sign the title over to you, and you drive home. I need it gone ASAP
