No offense Bill, but I will never buy something from RZ. The times I have been there the employees were complete assholes, and their stuff is so overpriced its not even funny.

I agree there is a snobby fasade at RZ. Add that ontop of their outragous pricing... Then again, that is probably what they are going for, since there is an idiot born every minute... so snobby people fit right in when they go there and pay the prices. Audi, Porsche, and BMW folks feel like real racers because they are buying from Racing Zone. A friend of mine purchased a set of Volks from them and got them 6 months later. I know for a fact Volks are not that HARD to come by.

i can vouch for the volks, the shop i work at have ordered 2 sets of volks and 2 sets of 5zigen from mcd, the volks took little less than 3 months, and the 5zigens took 2 and a half months.

the te37 that we recieved last month have a birthday of july 1st, we ordered the wheels june 26th. we recieved the wheels september 16th

from 5zigen, volk made copse are 2 month wait, at minimum

now.. where's my strut bars
edit: you said you are stocking sw20 stuff, what are they? matt never told me you are actually stocking anything related to toyota. i've never been to the shop, only thing i know is you guys have like 90 sets of volks for g35/350z

I hate racing zone PERIOD !.. you got ignorant know it alls that never look anything up and say, we don't carry this or that. then you got that oriental fellow that has the calculator on one hand and then endlessly slaps digits on it just to get you a simple price. Then, MOST of the items are 20% more than anyone else. Then the lead time is usually 6 weeks on top of what they tell you...... Bottom line... unless you are a lazy moron with deep pockets, then it's not worth going there.................

Well I havent checked the parts list lately. But I know Bill really well and I know he goes the extra mile to make sure people are happy. Certainly a price from a store cannot be as good as a used person-to-person exchange that we all normally take as a "price" for parts. I'm not sure as to their margin. Bill however didnt say he had cheap stuff for sale, he just said he was carrying parts for those models now. I believe this is a step up, because he may have something in stock right now that someone will need right away rather than ordering via web.

Just depends on what they have and how soon you need it. I'll tell you right now that in my business (Aircraft Parts at Volvo Aero). Just becuase one guy sells an Engine for 2.5 million and mine are for 3, I'm not reducing my price. After that 2.5 million one sells, mine are 3 mil are the only ones left Plus I can ship anywhere in the world in 2 days, vs about 2 weeks for my competitors.

i can relate to that..

me: "how much is [this part]?"
them: "$xxxx"
me: "is it in stock?"
them: "let's see.... we have one left in inventory"
me: "send it!"
them: "okay"

3 days later...

me: "where's [this part]?"
them: "i don't have it, i thought i did." (no apologies nor any sort of discount)
me: "when will it be in?"
them: "it will arrive tuesday"
me: "okay, i'll wait i guess"

2 days after tuesday

me: "where is [this part]?"
them: "still not here"
me: "can you tell me an eta? is it enroute? where is it?"
them: "vg30de"
them: "sr20det"
them: "ka24de"
them: "vq35de"
them: "b16a2"
me: "wtf? i am serious man, where is it?"
them: "k20a3"
them: "4agte"
me: "wtf are you doing?"
them: "me and [enter another rep's name] is playing guess the engine"
them: "4g63"
them: "you should join"
me: "wtf, just tell me where my part is"

another instance,

me: "how much is [so and so part]?"
<3 hours later>
me: "hello?"
them: "hey"
me: "how much is [so and so part]?"
them: "$yyyy, special order 2 weeks"
me: "okay"

a week later

me: "hey, remember that [so and so part] i got a price from you?"
them: "yeah."
me: "send it"
them: "okay"

3 weeks later

me: "where's the [so and so part]?"
them: "dude, that part is actually $zzzz, not $yyyy"
me: "what the hell? why?"
them: "the price i gave you, i guessed on it, and it was wrong"
me: "so why am i suffering?"
them: "i made an educated guess based on my experience, i took a business risk"
me: "well, if you took the risk, then you should eat that difference, because it was your fault"

3 hours later

me: "forget it, i'll get it from [enter another company]"

i ended up getting it for cheaper, AND faster than through them

i've told them before, if it wasn't for that fact that they are one of the biggest distributor of greddy, hks and the sole distributor of mackin in florida, i won't even be dealing with them. so yes, i can relate to it
