Mine I believe is crapped out, anyone got an extra?

 

I do, in fact.

I bought a brand new one and put it in to solve an issue I thought was my alternator. Turns out it wasn't the problem.

I'll sell you the one I took out (48,000 miles) for $70. If not, I'll keep it as a spare.

My battery died on me, then I went to Autozone and had it recharged. they then tested the alternator and said it was outputting 13.95 volts. My voltmeter inside the car reads 14-14.2 when the car is running. I did have a ton of corrosion on the positive terminal which may have caused the battery to take a charge I'm thinking.

 

have you tried a new battery? also are you on the factory subaru battery? Mine went bad after about 45k miles.

 

yeah my factory battery went bad also, i'm on my 2nd Autozone special.

 

Noise was coming from my AC compressor. I was so positive it was the alternator that I replaced it without bothering to actually test it somehow.

 

damn! my compressor makes noise too
