someone donates wheels, someone who donated seat crashes car, effs up the other donors wheels and leaves with their fresh seat, then person with wheels gets furious!!!

Yea that's tru. But thats also why you don't donate a set of volks. Lol. You gotta go into with the mindset that you'll prob never see the parts you donate. Cause we all have shot laying around that ain't no one going to miss. Now if you put everyones random shot together you'll have a car.

my point exactly...
that's why i'm wanting to go SOHC, and get random parts, dented fenders, damaged hood... i still have a pile of 240 parts in my garage, and i haven't owned one in almost a year... some i can use, some i can't (S14 parts)... so, if everyones like me, i sure they've got random crap in thier garage that's been sitting for a while that's worth what? maybe $20 at most? it's a lot of $10-$20 parts that this car will need, and with enough of em, as miataspeed said, you'll have a car...
basically, if you're worried about the potential loss of an expensive part, don't donate it, i've already stated this wont be a superlegitzomgwtfdriftcar, it's going to a be a missile, built in the cheapest way possible, just to get it on the track...

didnt really read your post. kinda skimmed through it... but does donating tires count? cause where i work at i get to take whatever used tires i want home. and they'll have around 50-60% tread left too.
