s13.5 f/s f/t???
Ok, just going to post this time as a cops nephew... The florida law is that if you did not rightfully know it was stolen you can not be charged. They can however try to seize the items that were stolen. Taking this to small claims court you would have to prove that this kid stole it. If he did I think he would have your seat and harness in his car also, and not just the busted ass s15 front. As for the cops confiscating it, they could impound it until the court process is finished. But if in conclusion the judge finds that the seller is not guilty of a crime and can say who sold it to him, he will remain the owner of the s15 front and then they will take judgement on the previous seller. Then it would go on and on until the find the piss-ant who stole it. Now stop trying to say the cops will do this and will do that, because you obviously dont understand it yourself.
-Mike
As I said before good luck with getting your money/front back. But dont blame this kid for you being a moron and having your car stolen. Alarms for a reason cheap ass...
in conclusion... ALARMS > S15 FRONTS ANY FUCKING DAY!

You are the dumbest motherfucker in this entire thread. Shit down and shut the fuck up you abortion of a human being.
Freely accessible information is not illegal, it is not a 'serious offence' and its not identity theft.
You stupid fuck.
Um.. yeah... no one said he stole it. And I didn't ask anyone to go all out and obtain his personal life info, though it's going to be helpful since he's not answering his PM's I guess.
I can talk about this like a civilized person. What's done is done, but if he gets rid of the front end/car now, then he's in more trouble by knowingly and willingly selling stolen property.
This is all avoidable and doesn't have to end in a tasteless manner. Wear my shoes for a minute and become a human of flesh and blood, for Christ's sake.

He's not answering PMs and is leaving me with less honorable options.
Trurx, If I don't get an answer by 8:00pm confirming minimal cooperation, I have no other choice than to move on with this ton ofinformation I have.
Please govern yourself accordingly.

ok this ends now.
a, do not post information on the site, unless he has already been judged guilty. i don't care if it's freely accessible, this is not the place to spread information like that to gather leverage or invoke any ill-will or harm to the person named in the info.
b, this thread should have been handled via PMs, not in the public view. if you had a problem with a part being stolen, send the mod or another admin like i a PM and we'll gladly close the thread so that the sale cannot go through until it has been verified whether it's stolen or not.
c, the owner of the car may very well have not known anything was stolen up until now. the paint underneath is not proof it was stolen, since nissan parts get traded and sold back about as often as i take a breath.
d, the evidence is quite leaning towards the fact that the front end parts are stolen merchandise. knowing that, the owner of the car now should halt his sale of the car, and contact the person it was stolen from. the owner of the car now owes NOTHING to the victim. however, he DOES have an obligation to give his information to the victim, and let the victim give the information to the investigating authorities. what will happen then, is they will contact the owner now and probably take pictures and/or seize the property for the investigation.
here's where it gets fuzzy. the person who stole the car (whomever that was), now gets selling/dealing stolen merchandise charges added to the list, and if they ever find that person, they will get theirs. being that the current owner of the aforementioned stolen parts had no knowledge that they were stolen, he cannot be charged with a crime, UNLESS he voluntarily with holds the information after knowing it, which isn't easy to prove btw. he should do as i stated before, and give his info so the investigators can make note of where the stolen parts are now and if they are indeed the parts in question.
being that it changed hands, the current owner of the car is technically going to be a victim as well, since the authorities will likely have to seize the parts, if not the whole car, for their work they need to perform, and while the current owner paid fair and square for the transaction, which at the time was legit since he didn't know, he is going to lose out on parts he paid for with his own money, even though they were stolen before his transaction took place. (aka, his transaction was legit, barring the fact that the parts were stolen). he will likely not get to keep the stolen parts, unless he somehow were to work a deal with the person they were stolen from. likely i believe the parts will be returned to the original victim, and thus if the current owner wants them back, he'll have to pay for them, and thus, he is losing out, essentially paying for that stuff twice.
it's not an easy situation, but if the current owner and the original victim work together, things can be solved in the best way possible, but by no means will anyone come out the winner, or with all of what they started. no one likes thieves, and who is to know that ANY OF YOU, myself included, have bought a part used that was legit or not...some of us could have bought parts from even good friends and it could have been stolen by all means (just stating it's possible).
do not be so quick to judge and flame on the poor guy, for he didn't know. if he knew, or was the thief, it's a different story (provided there is proof against him and he DID do it).
for those of you all over this guy, you're not anymore. done.
for those of you who registered to stir the TRama, welcome to TR, and may your future posts be informative and productive or contributive to this forum and its members, for this is your first and last warning against further attacks.
lockdown. if you have questions, PM me or the other admins. TR does not mediate in any legal issues like these with authorities, but if so instructed, we can turn over information to them (which isn't common, since the forum is publically viewable anyways). so remember to watch what you say and put out there, it may be used against you.
Thanks, and have a nice day

ps - this is the testament of older cars and insurance. the diminishing returns on aftermarket parts are never recovered, and not having the most comprehensive coverage, including aftermarket parts is a guarantee that in situations like these, that no one wins.
