Only s13 valve covers were painted that color, and have three top bolts, where as s14 have 2 on the top and three on the back. and the reason an s13 diz wouldnt work is because it uses an external coil, where as an s14 uses an Internal Coil, they look almost identical but the s13 has 5 coil wire pulgs (middle one is for the External coil) the s14 only have 4 one for each spark plug wire.

I could be wrong, but i thought i saw what looked like a 3rd bolt on the top of the cam cover, get me a better picture and I will know forsure, It does have the S14 intakemanifold so i could be wrong, or its an S13 head on an s14 block. there are alot of possibilities

thank you btw the dizzy has only 4 i guess you would say ports where spark plug wires can be connected it does NOT have the 5th one like the s13 like your saying.

You still would have the 4 plug dizy because you are using the S14 harness, the distributors are interchangeable fitment wise, if it was an s13 motor you would need the s14 distributor to make the car run with that ecu.

just count the number of bolts on the top center of the valve cover
3= s13 2=s14

who cares as long as it runs great?

somebody who making sure they are gettin what they are paying for. If this truly is an s13 motor than there are prob more than 80k miles on it and if he is trying to hide the fact that it isnt the original motor than what else could he be hiding? if i was going to spend the money on a car im pretty sure i would want to know what motor is in it?? but hey thats just me spending my money... so more pics would be nice to prove the truth
