Default S13 Silvia/180sx JDM Front Brakes...

OEM Silvia front calipers, rotors, and endless pads. A great upgrade from your stock set-up. Rotors measure 11'' in diameter. Pads are used, but have about 90% life left. $300.

What is the actual difference? aren't they just like bigger single piston calipers? I know the rotor is slightly bigger.... Thanks

Yep. Larger single pistons w/ larger rotors. They bolt directly to your stock spindle/lines. I haven't measured the stock rotor for comparison, but I did hold one up to the stock rotor on my '89... They look to be at least 2" bigger....

Stock rotors are 9.8". I have a pic comparing the stock, jdm, and 300zx brakes, but my website is down. Rotors are as big as Z-brakes, just not as thick. JDM 180sx pads actually have more surface area than Z-brakes. If need an upgrade on 4-lug and don't want to worry about wheels that clear large calipers, this is what you want!

where would you get new pads and rotors from? would you have to buy ones direct from japan or is there a car in the US with the same brakes?

I've heard that pads from any '89 or newer maxima will fit the silvia caliper. I'm not positive if this is true.. I've never used these brakes before. Do a search on Freshalloy.com ... many people say the maxima pads work perfectly. Axxis Metal Masters (napa) would make a nice replacement when the endless pads finally wear out...
