Default WTB: 14B exhaust housing

WTB: 14B exhaust housing. I picked up a 14B that is pretty badly cracked around the wastegate port.

Yeah, not something you would see without taking the o2 housing off, not a big deal. I could probably weld on it but I think another housing is easy enough to get a hold of. The turbine wheel looks awesome though, I think the turbo is in excellent shape otherwise. I almost just put that whole assembly on the motor, probably would have spooled for shit and ran out of breath fast, would have been guessing for sure.

Well, you can see light between the wastegate flapper and the housing. I wouldn't care if it was a bit cracked but it should at least have a chance to close well.

If another housing doesn't turn up in a week or so I'll probably just buy a new turbo like I should have in the first place. That's what I get for trying to save a buck and take it slow on this motor.

theres nothing that bad with that housing. the arm has started to work it way out. this is common. just tap it back in with a hammer so the flapper lines up back over the whole. then secure bushing using a punch. this will keep it from sliding back out. The small crack under the flapper will hardly slow the spool of a 14b. they spool so fast you wont notice. has zero effect on hp since the flapper is fully open under full throttle anyway. with no stripped studs that is what I call a good housing.

I like that logic, I'll take a peek at it tonight. In all honesty the 14b is just going on for a few months while I work out the kinks of a car that has sat for 4 years. Appreciate the input!

Jerry, thanks for the help. Looks good. To secure that bushing do you just drive a pinhole in the crease between the bushing and housing?

most use a center punch to peen the housing right at the bushing.
