i busted my timing belt doing about 40mph in my 96 gs. have not took the head off or looked at anything. Heard something about how the 420s are an interferance motor or something and that it means basically with a busted timing belt i'm more screwed then with a normal motor. short side is, i'm tryin to sell the car but if i can get another motor i'd rather not. yeah, long story i know lol

anyone have a 420 for sell. don't have money in hand but i need to know how much i'm gonna need to try and keep my car lol

 

so have you checked out your motor yet?

 

it may not have hurt it,put a new timing belt on it,start it and see how it runs,i have had them run fine after breaking a belt

 

well what i think might screw me with that is because before i found the snapped belt, i tried startin it once or twice after tryin to figure out why i wasn't gettin spark..

so now i'm just tryin to sell the shell with the blown motor and let someone else try and rebuild the motor or take apart the head to see how bad the damage actually is
