I wonder how much HP/Boost those engines can handle. I have never heard anything good about them.

 

my mom had a friend who had a 3g that was pretty nice but it wasnt boosted, this one looks nice if u ask me

 

Yeah, its clean and looks good, but I was just wondering how well the engine can handle boost before it goes bang. I heard the engines on the 3rd gens are trash.

 

Stock pistons start breaking around the ringland over 12psi. The most they can make under 12psi on any turbo I have seen is right around 300-320whp. I had one that I suprcharged and then later went turbo with on that same exact kit.

 

Alright. It sounds like they will hold up like any other N/A that gets turboed, except the 4g63. I was wrong about the 3rd gen block.

i have a 1G turbo eclipse. im not a big fan of the 3rd gens, but i do admire how the car looks almost completely stock minus fmic & exhaust. good work. i hate nothing more than rice. that being said,
