FS: Complete 2g 7bolt motor New headgasket/timing belt
Like the title says. Did 6 bolt swap, no longer need motor. Rebuilt with intentions of using in other project, but project fell through. 0 miles since headgasket/timing belt. Good working motor. Painted VC. Does not include turbo, as it's housing somehow got cracked during engine rebuild. Asking $850 neg. Shoot an offer, but be realistic please.

If you don't walk crankwalk ever again...then you should probably consider 6 bolt. If you absolutely must have a 7 bolt, then get a 99' model year 7 bolt. You'll still risk crank walk (but in reality, any motor can)....anywho, the 99 is the least likely to do it. Plus, they have the nice revised lifters if you get the head from a 99.

Look, the car had about 110,000 on it. It ran GREAT! It had compression of 160 accross the board except for cyl 3. We removed the head and found that all the cylinders still had crosshatchings, and the pistons looked clean. Pulled the oil pan, looked for all typical signs of crankwalk...everything was perfect. We noticed the problem was on the head gasket, so we had the head decked and put a new HG on there. Compression was a-OK in ALL cylinders. People play up the wole crankwalk thing. My 6-bolt crankwalked on me when I first got my Talon. I'm not trying to screw anyone, or anything, I just don't want this motor here anymore. If someone picks it up, I'll let it go for $700. Either that or It's going on ebay for $1000, and it WILL sell for that to someone. Any takers?

Easy killer, I was just asking. Most people do that when they're thinking about spending more than a few hundred dollars on something that isnt brand spanking new. If you re-read my question I dont even know how you could think you were trying to screw anyone, just wanted a little moe info. One final thought: if I knew that I could sell something for $1000 in one place, I would never try to sell it somewhere else for $300 less. Best of luck.

Well, good news is, if it has over 110k miles on it, with no signs of crank walk, then that motor's probably in the clear. I also have to agree with TSI Racer, if you can earn an extra $300.00, why not go the EBay route? Either way, best of luck with the sale.

I wasn't being hostile at all, sorry to have come accross that way.
Maybe it was my leftover hostility about driving to Tampa twice in one day for someone on TR and end up losing a perfect tranny for a useless crankwalked motor. That sucked.
Have you ever sold an engine on Ebay? Its a nightmare. Gotta wait forever for the guy to pay you, to get good shipping rates I would have to strap it to a pallet, drive over 45 miles to a trucking dock. Plus the 10$ listing fee, the 40$ in gas, the time wasted..it's just not worth the hassle.
