It might seem expensive, but my brother is trying to put together an LS-1 FC and if you've done your research the price is not that unreasonable. Especially considering its a clean S5 TII SHELL (a waste, but that's neither here nor there at this point). T56's aren't cheap, and neither is a transmission rebuild! This thing is worth more than half the asking price in parts alone, and that's not even counting the shell.
GLWS, but there are neither deep pockets nor much piston love in this area of TR.

Also considering you could not have an FD in this condition, with this amount of work done for this price, your argument is invalid.
