Yeah I can't wait to see how this "custom" cage is going to come out when you can't even spell the word "tubing." You must post pics when you're finished.

I aggree that i dont care for the design of that cage. And it appears to be a lil excessive (Sarcasm), but i also dont believe thats justin's cage..... and how pretty the welds look doesnt mean shit in a race car. The only thing i care about is wether they will hold. Justin you never specified what thickness you were looking to make the cage out of.... If your planning on the cage for sanction racing, you might wanna look and see what the requirements are before constructing the cage. A six point should be more than enough..... but like i said, id double check. As far as tubing goes, id check around at places like tampa steel.... but all my cages were professionally built so ive never sourced the material..

Depends on wether your building a sanction cage or a cage for your own comfort. Im not sure the specs or if they are different as ive only had cages for stock cars, but if it a drag cage or a road race cage or a drift cage, they might each have different minimum tubing requirements as far as wall thickness goes. If your throwing in a cage, for any reason, my first concern would be to ensure its safe. not just home depot fence pipe. Ill get you more info on the available thickness and what sanctions require what. Ill also hunt down weights for wall thickness and material.
