I have a 1989 mazda rx7 gxl for sale. Runs good but i think its not getting any back pressure, its got headers and a straight pipe all the way to the back with some aftermarket exhaust. In other words... its loud. It is ready for paint, allready been sanded and has rust only on the sunroof, also have replacement panel for the smashed one. I can tell you exactly what wrong with it just from your pics. that damn cosmo racing sticker, get rid of it and all your problems are solved.


on a serious note. your backpressure issue. isnt a backpressure issue. you have a s5. the 5th and 6th port acutators are powered off the air pump. which is removed in your car. well unless you have them wired open or have some sort of electronic pneumatic device then their closed. and hence the lack of power after 4k.

now if your feeling no power at before 4k and then it start to fell right 4-7k then they are wired open and you have lost your lower end torque.

 

they 5th n 6th ports were left open. i def know about that. the previous owner had block off plates and all that shit. the caar used to had dual exhaust for that whole back pressure reason. i dunno why it was changed.




oh n i hope this guys has a titlte for this car. last time i heard they were having problems with it.
