Parting Out: EK Coupe
Thanks cuban
The accident was caused operator error, I hit the brakes going about 85, rear tires hit a slick spot on the road and locked up; before I could even counter steer I was completely sideways. The car slid sideways into the grass, continued the spin and hit the guard rail backwards at about a 30 degree angle. The front end came around and made contact with the guard rail as the car was sliding. During the slide I hit a reflector post, which went through the rear windshield and shattered my rear lip into 3 or 4 pieces. The car came to a stop about 200 feet after the initial impact.

Yeah I'm 100%.
Couldn't sleep the night after it happened, I think the adrenaline shock upset my stomach. But I got a good 9 hours of sleep last night and nothing hurts yet. Hitting backwards was nice since my neck took no strain at all and I impacted the seat pretty evenly.

I'm not too broken up about it. Going 80 sideways through a median at night is pretty much the most fun I've ever had on a public highway.
Also something to note, despite considerable damage to the front fender and bumper, the legendary cowl hood is 100% COMPLETELY IN TACT. Not a single scratch on the thing. It will never die.

damn my hatch was just destroyed 2 hrs ago. I got rear ended and it bumped me into the car in front of me. So my back and front is messed up now. But for $10 i'll buy that armrest. I wish i'd have enough money to buy that type r swap. where r u located?
Well the car is still in a tow yard, the insurance company hasn't processed the claim entirely and I'm waiting on the adjuster to finish up his paperwork before I can pick the car up. Unfortunately, I will be out of the state all this month, so I won't be able to start dismantling things till I get back. I can meet in tampa for most of the parts, or ship the smaller ones.
dude that totally sucks!
I bet if you were RWD you could have saved it!
Ive done 360s on the highway with bald tires! hahaha
Anways, Im glad your safe and now the bright side..
You can start with a fresh chassis!

Man I seriously doubt I would have saved it even with AWD, it came around way too fast, and once it got into the wet grass nothing but a guard rail was going to stop it. FWD is the best layout for a fishtail because you can usually just stomp the gas and straighten the car back out.
