WTB:03 civic engine
MY G/F'S civic timing belt broke , and i think there might be some serious damage to the engine, my mec said that i might need to be lookin for another engine .... the car is a 03 civic EX sohc vtec ....(d17) so if anyone is sellin one with decent miles or knows of a place where i can get one for a reasonable price ... please lmk ... thanks a lot guys

but you don't know for sure if you did damage or not? why don't you or someone at least rip the head off real quick and see if there is damage first before throwing money away on an engine. the cost to resurface the head and install 7 dollar valves and a new timing belt will a lot less than an engine.
i mean do what you want to, by all means. i just dont want to see someone throwing money away on something that could have been fixed cheaper and prob be done a running a lot sooner than waiting for a shop to swap an engine for you. because that is going to be very pricey.
also, check the honda and acura parts for sale and make a new thread. im sure someone has one laying around. a lot of guys are swapping for k20s. also check out

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

thanks yea im waiting so i can take it to the shop to get it checked out all the way , just wanted to see maybe someone had onefor a decent price... yea my mistake its a d17... mec just looked at it but he needs me to take it to his shop thats all the way in colombus , i live near plant city so i need to look for a cheap towin truck

ttt. shop already checked and said i'd better off gettin an engine since there is a lot of damaged caused to the engine ... so please if anyone know of someone selling one please point me on that direction ... thanks
