anyone put a header on a Y7 with the manifold mounted cat? if so did your check engine light come on afterwards since the cat isnt in between the o2 sensors?

as long as theres 2 o2 sensors in the header, it shouldnt throw any codes, mine didnt anyway

hey, i had a y7 and i replaced the header with the EG EX header (doesnt have built in cat) and yes the engine check light came on.

but also, after replacing the header, i no longer have a CAT so of course the check light would come on.

yes it will come on, unless you buy another cat to put between your header and piping. You can pick up a cheap high flow cat on ebay for like 5 bucks though, better than having a cel light on.

 

i had no cat and no cel on my 00dx, but i had 2 o2 sensors in the header still and it worked fine

 

yeah thats true..so basically he just needs to make sure he has two 02 bungs in his new header...
