Default Looking for 350 or any motor

I have a '88 Chevy s10 Pickup and the rings are shot....so im looking for either a 350 or pretty much any motor that will fit in the engine bay..

lt4 4 bolt main 383, with lunati cam and dart heads, fresh motor about 4k miles

I am a human with no brains when i comes to this...but would i need a new tranny if i buy a different motor and/or motor mounts?

What motor did it have in it? You can buy the conversion kit to drop a v8 motor in it. Be better off with a V8. Pretty commen swap.

you would need motor mounts, and 9/10 you could get an adapter if need for your current tranny, btw what type of trans do you have?

If you put a carbed motor in it you need motor mounts and I think the tranny should bolt right up. Alot of people do it. You can buy a whole conversion kit pretty cheap off the web.

You can use the transmisson but you need the v-8 bellhousing.
