Default USF needs your Chevy 350 stuff! Also an engine stand which we would return!

Hey guys, The wakeboard club at USF is trying to rebuild a Chevy 350 motor for a 1994 Mastercraft Prostar 190 Ski Boat. If you have any stuff laying around which you could donate in exchange for some advertising (we compete across the state, community service, and we are all over campus) or just for a good cause we would greatly appreciate it. Pretty much any stock stuff we could use(or maybe aftermarket??) because there is alot of unknowns about this motor we had donated to us. Stuff like starters, dizzys, random bolts, carb stuff, etc etc. Also, we could use a engine stand since right now its just sitting on a palette. For the engine stand we would definitely return it when we are finished (hopefully soon) Let me know what you guys have! Thanks in advance!

Keven

So far we had a whole boat donated so far. It hasnt ran in a long time and the hull is crap, HOWEVER it came with a chevy 350 with a carb, starter, most of the accessories, stuff like that. We dont know whats good on that (we just started tearing it apart) but it hasnt ran in a while and who knows how well it ran when it did. If anyone knows of good website where I can learn about carbs, marine waterpumps and marine trannys that would help since all I know is EFI 5.0 Mustang stuff.....and 1973 Honda Mini bikes. Do carb motors use fuel pumps?

yes mechanical fuel pump most likely..and that motor maybe a reverse rotation 350 because a lot of boats had those so if it is a reverse rotation a lot of the standard car parts wont work like water pump oil pump and i dont think the dizzies work together either

if i were you i would get as much info about the boat as you can. takes some pictures of the engine and go to a boat repair place. that way you can find out more about the boat and see if regular car parts can even work on it.
