WTB tranny for 97 jimmy
my sisters tranny went out in her 97 gmc jimmy and she needs to get her kids back and forth from school so i need a tranny that has no problems at all that i can put in for her its auto 2wd pm me what you have
Find out
I have a 93 4L60E, worked good when pulled out of a 2WD 1500 Chevy pickup with the 4.3.
You need to find out first if this one will work... I think it was 98 when they changed over to the removable bell and different electronics, but I'm not 100%.
I know this if the Jimmy's 4WD, this won't work, you have to find a 4X4 4L60E. Mine has the 6 bolt dust cover with the 2 rods that bolt to it, there's also 4 bolt dust cover, but I think those are interchangeable as a unit.
PM me if this checks out and you're interested.

You're gonna have to do some legwork. There's at least 3 types of 4L60E's... the 1st generation, which is what I have. Works on trucks and cars from 93-96 or 7. 2nd gen 4L60E's have "PWM" cast on the pump- that stands for Pulse Width Modulated torque converter clutch. Different electronics than the 1st gen E's, far as I'm aware. Not sure about interchange between conventional TCC lock and the PWM type. 3rd gen 4L60E's have a removable bellhousing so they can be adaped to both car Gen 3 LS-type motors, gen 1 equipped trucks, and Gen 3 trucks both light and HD.
I'll sell my 4L60E for $250, but fitment is your responsibility. Not trying to be a hardass, but if you're trying for a deal you'll have to do the work yourself.
Otherwise, you and your sister would be better off you pulling the trans, and having someone rebuild it. Least that way you save the labor.
