Default Wtb - set of aftermarket cams for a 01-04 sohc 4.6

looking to buy some aftermaket cams for my 01 gt with a nice lobe separation...i have a 03-04 cobra stock hood i can trade or i can buy em cash ...thanks

Isnt that contradicting? Cam(s) for a sohc motor. Good luck though Im looking for one also for my 5.0

no he is correct. the 4.6 uses overhead cams, not an internal cam. the 5.0s are internal but the 4.6 cam placement is on top of the heads, meaning two cams-just one on each head.

btw ...sohc mean single over head cam and the 4.6 has two heads with means two CAMSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HOME BOY

Be careful which cams you go with Eddie or be prepared to notch the pistons in order to make the cams work.

It doesnt matter what dish the pistons are either. The valves dont hit in the dish. 4.6 pistons (stock) all have a crown and that is where the notch needs to be in order to avoid PTV contact.

Usually anything below a Comp 270HR spec is safe. And depending how the 270 gets degre'd in can mean life or death.

Its not very difficult to notch the pistons if you dont have aftermarket pistons that are already set up.
I did the pistons in my 96 using a PI head and a couple modified valves as the template.
