Its not for sale. I just put it up there as a teaser and to be an ass.
Everything has a price. But you could buy a new trailer for what I would want to let this one go. I use it too much to ever sell it.

And hey,.. its a Chevy truck pulling it too.

I dont mind loaning it out though. Or even trailering something for someone so long as they cover my gas expenses. Its rated as a 5ton trailer. It has a 20' deck. Slide out ramps make loading lowered cars a breeze. I've had a 1 ton single axle 4dr Dodge long bed on it before. I think thats the heaviest thing I've towed with it. I've hauled cinderblocks, plywood, lumber, furnature, 4 wheelers, 6 golf carts, and too many cars and trucks than I could ever remember.

If loaned out,.. all I ask is a photo copy of your DL and a $150 deposit. The deposit is fully refundable once the trailer is returned damage free. I've had some bad experiences loaning it out in the past,. thats the only reason for that. I think if they have some money to lose they'll take better care of my trailer.

Honestly I dont know. Its not very heavy. When empty I dont notice it at all back there. If I had to guess,.. I'd say between 1200lb - 1500lbs. I can lift and hold up the tongue with both arms while my son puts a cinder block underneath,.. so it cant be too heavy. Its rated 5ton,.. (10,000lbs) but I think that would be a little much for the axles. I had a 6200 lb 1 ton truck on it before and it did fine. I run 10ply truck tires on it. I bought it with an open deck and then welded in the deck and tie downs later. I also lowered the fenders. My next mod I plan to put hinged fenders on it so lowered cars can open the doors.

My father inlaw bought it new back in 92 for $2300. I bought it 6 or 7 years ago from him for $1600. I dont want to sell it. I use it too much. But you should be able to find similar trailers for between $1200 - $1800 in same or better condition. Mine has brakes on both axles.

I seen in the other post you didn't want to sell it,thats cool,I asked because I found one for sale but he said it's a very heavy dudy trailer, but I'm worried about the towing compacity on my Pathfinder,it's 5,000lbs. so I'm not sure what I can get away with.I did tow 1sicbu's bigblock Malibu on his trailer one night and he said my Pathfinder towed his car better than his full sized Suburban. This will be my first trailer,me and my brother are gonna buy it for our stangs,so I kinda want to make the right choice the first time.BTW,the grill works very good, thanks.

Whatever you do, get a dovetail. A removable driver-side fender is needed if it has em. Ill keep my ears open for ya.

If you planning to tow with the Pathfinder you have to know that its not the exactly an ideal truck to tow with. The short wheel base and smaller brakes can get you into trouble. I'm sure it has plenty of power to pull it,.. many people get confused with that aspect. You still need to stop and if you ever are in a situation where you need to make an evasive manuver,. you really want something that has enough ass to command the trailer to follow it,.. else its very easy to jack knife a light tow vehicle.

In my experience its easier to tow a longer trailer than a short one. With a light truck like what your planning on using,.. when you load the cars on the trailer,.. try to center the car over the trailer axles so that you have just enough tongue weight to keep the tongue on the ball. That will minimize the side to side dancing that lighter trucks experience when towing. A 1 ton truck will 'generally' not experience very much trailer dancing,.. even with most of the trailer weight on the tongue. My half ton truck is the very minimum I would pull a car trailer with. I always had a 3/4 or 1 ton truck to pull my trailer with. This is my first half ton truck. Surprisingly,.. (And I had my doubts when I first got the truck) this truck tows very well. It has more then enough power to pull it. But more importantly,.. the brakes on this truck are better then what I had on my 93 F250,. and this truck pulls just as strong as that one did with a 7.3 turbo diesel.

You are right in wanting a light trailer.
If you want,.. I can bring my trailer down to your place and you can try it out and see how your Pathfinder would tow with a trailer like mine. That way you can get an idea of what to look for. I dont think a shorter 16' trailer would work well with your Pathfinder. I think it would end up all over the road at speed and very difficult to drive with a car on it.

Give me a call if you would like to try out my trailer.

Also,...
If your Pathfinder doesnt have one. I would suggesting getting a transmission cooler,.. or if what you have is small,.. perhaps getting a larger one. My truck came factory equipped for towing. Frame mounted reciever,.. pre-wired for trailer brakes,.. large tranny cooler and the transmission has a trailer towing mode that changes the shift points when towing. I dont think you'll have too much trouble towing around town,.. like from your place to Sunshine. But if you plan to run to Bradenton,.. I think your tranny may run hot pulling that much weight at speed. Thats why I suggested a large tranny cooler.

Not really trying to sell mine but I have been thinking about getting an enclosed trailer. 20", dove tail, toolbox on tounge, slide in ramps, spare tire, new LED lights, solid low fenders that you can drive over if need be. the trailer and fenders are low enough that my car drives on and opens the doors with no problems or extra ramps. It could stand to be painted as I assume the place that built it just rattle canned it and it shows. These are the only pics that I have of it. $2k
