man you will probably never see a set of true hi po heads. there were so few. I owned a set of crane 289 hi po heads 20 years ago. the machine shop I took them to freaked out over them. they said they had never seen a set. the factory hi po heads only came on the k code mustangs. on the other hand regular 289 heads are plentiful. there is only a few differences anyway. the hipo heads have deeper spring pockets for higher lift springs, and thats all I can remember. I know a few old school ford guys I can call, but I can tell you with the way some of the prices on correct cars I would expect the price to be a couple grand for a set of hi po heads.
yup, ONLY difference is hipos had screw in studs and machined spring pockets. valves, ports, chambers, etc are all the same.
i have a set of 1970 351w heads, 60cc chambers, 1.84in/1.54ex. all stock, $100. i'm in springhill also

I have a set of "68" model 289HP heads with K-code (65-66 round ext. ports) with Crane stamped all over them,They have ports and chambers that are polished from(you know where). My heads have 289HP on the top with 302 ground off the bottom,They have the small chambers like I used to run on my 65' stang.Cast in guides, screw in's of course.I have never seen a set of heads like these. They are really strong on my 5.0.....RPM'S kstang350@yahoo.com
I might have what you are looking for....they are date stamped 7M27 on one head and the other 8A9....casting #'s are C80E on both which makes them '68's I believe....clearly stamped 289 on both....I will shoot some pics to see what you think...they are the screw down types
