Looking for a mustang
New to the mustangs and wanting a fairly clean and stock 87-93 with decent miles and air, prefer lx hatch, but will consider any except verts. Have cash and or a possible bike trade, mint 86 gsxr 750 and a 01 1000. Plus any advice on what to look out for on these cars would be appreciated.
Couple things to look for is any crinkled metal under the hood around the shock towers or the core support (front end collision) also, and hacked up wiring jobs, get a carfax and make sure someone isnt rying to sell you their 4 cyl conversion car they half-assed through together just to make a couple grand off of. Check the A pillar, up top where it meets the roof, they are prone to ripping right there due to just being a flimsy car. And make sure all the doors, hatch and hood all align properly. No big gaps on one side and little/no gaps on the other. Lastly, if you get a car from someone and they say it has blah blah blah parts, ask for receipts, anyone that builds a car and takes care of it keeps pretty much all their receipts to prove the car has been "meticulously" cared for. Another thing, look for spotted paint areas or fresh paint jobs, see if they got a new paint job to enhance the car or to cover up something. FWIW, you can typically post up a VIN and ask someone on the forums to run it for you and they will for free. Just supply your email address with the request.
