Default WTB: 5.0 T-5 Transmission.

I need a T-5 Transmission. Something that has came off of a V8. My 2nd, and 4th gear grind horribly. I need a tranny that does not grind.

Thanks guys.

You can swap a 4cyl tranny and get yours rebuilt then swap them back.

Is a 4cyl T-5 tranny, the same as the V8? What's the difference, anything?

the shaft that goes into the pilot bearing is smaller, for $100 i would jam a 4 cyl t5 in there and use it while the v8 one is being fixed.

the longest lasting t5 we ever had was out of a 4 cyl.

I used one from a Mercedes I think, its been a while. Go to Discount, bring a pilot bearing for a 5.0 T5 and then get the clutch alignment tool for a 4 cyl. Find a bearing that is the same size as the 5.0 and fits on the 4 cyl alignment tool. Thats what we did.
