There are certain things you dont want to haggle on..and #1 is the price of service, especially with the guy doing the work, on your shit, for as long he damn well feels like it.

You would think that but day in and day out people low ball pricing on services because some back yard hack that has no bills and has been or trying to be in "this" industry for a year or so charges next to nothing

I went to my doctor last week. When it came time to pay my bill I asked the desk if they could cutt me a deal. The woman stood their in shock. She asked if I was joking Not a true story but most get where I am going

This is classic example of why in the performance industry shops have to charge additional fees for service.

I answer MANY calls daily that usually start with,

" My boy tried to do it and ..."
" So and so does it for this much "
" The internet said i could do it this way ..."
" This guy had a welder so i just let him do it..."
" Now that we changed this, that doesnt work. Y ? "

I feel bad for the people who say that stuff..but worse for the people who have to do the work with people griping about labor. I can understand gouging them out of money, but its tough to do honest work for cut throat prices.

When/if I end up in the military, and when it comes time to make a monster of my car and i dont have the time/space to do it..I certainly wont quibble over quality work...but for the time being I am my own best mechanic
