Arrow 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L - Project Koolaid

2011 Mustang GT
5.0L 4V
6 Speed Automatic
Exterior Color : Race Red
Interior Color : Black Charcoal

Project name : KOOLAID

First track testing will take place tomorrow night 10-20-2010 @ Palm Beach International Raceway

Tonight on the dyno 100% stock all the way down to the craptastic Ford filter.

Car put down 350 rwhp / 332 rwtq through the automatic.
I was very impressed with that as a starting point.

We then installed a SCT X3 Handheld device with a BBR 93 Xtreme tuned based off of everything being stock on the car.

Car then put down 372 rwhp / 345 rwtq

That is a 22 rwhp gain and a 13 rwtq gain from a BBR Xtreme tune.
Not to mention the throttle response and the drivability of the car is just awesome now!!!!

Here are a few pictures of Koolaid.
I did have tint installed yesterday.

After BBR Shorty Antenna & Limo Tint

UPDATE - We got rained out from the track... So we played on the dyno for more power. This is what we got from playing with the TiVCT and the Cam Angle Tables.

Stock 350 rwhp / 332 rwtq
BBR Tune 375 rwhp / 354 rwtq

I love those cars but I have to tell you. I test drove the auto and the manual. The auto was the sloppiest auto I've ever driven in a "performance" car. Made the old AOD seem high-tech. I hope there's something you can do about that - maybe in the tune or are valve bodies available?

We have one at the shop 5sp, customer wanted it supercharged. Contacted vortech they said 6-10 months before they have a kit avail, we bought a head unit and made our own brackets. completely stock motor, gutted cats, flowmasters, front mount intercooler, and tuned by us made over 650rwhp Outside of car is stock appearing, intercooler is black!!

We are going to start selling kits if anyone is interested, all tuning is done in house.

How much boost is being run through to hit that 650?

I'm asking because I read something about Procharger having a kit that brings the new 5.0 up to like 550 at the tires on 7-8 psi I believe?

????? I have my Vortech sitting in my garage right now waiting to go on. I'm just testing out some other stuff for the car first. Vortech, Paxton, Procharger, Ford Racing, Whipple, Kenne Bell and Roush all have systems on the market already. Hell, the shop I go to has already installed numerous systems on these cars. So I'm not sure where you got the 6-10 months from LOL

PLUS:
The stock fuel pumps on these cars with a Boost-a-Pump is only good for 600 rwhp. That is the max...and there is no aftermarket upgrade readily available for them yet b/c of the newly designed fuel tank. So, I don't know how you're getting 650+ horsepower. LOL

That is correct and I've seen a few myself actually make that number in front of my own eyes.

Since I got rained out at the track last night. Decided to put the car back on the dyno and play with some of the TiVCT and Cam Angle tables to see if I could get more power.... and sure as hell... IT DID

Stock 350 rwhp / 332 rwtq
BBR Xtreme Tune 375 rwhp / 354 rwtq

Remember, this is a BONE STOCK AUTOMATIC. So 25 rwhp / 22 rwtq gains on a bone stock car is pretty dang good I think.
