'01 Cobra Convertible
This car belongs to my cousin, Lil Eddie, and he and my Uncle have been building it for about a year or so now. We've got quite a bit done to it the past few months, including an IRS to Solid-Axle Swap, '03 Cobra Wheels & Tires w/315 Nittos, and just a little Vortech V2 SQ
Today we spent several hours cleaning, clay baring, waxing, and polishing the car. Here's some photos from today's progress:

This is Lil Eddie's first car, and he's helped along the way of the build, and we hope to be able to teach him a lot about cars, Mustangs, life and upholstery (duh) while spending time with him building the car. I'm sure all you dad's out there can relate to that, right!?!
We're hoping to get it out to SunShine this coming Wednesday, to see what she'll do in the 1/8th!! Feel free to come on down and hang out

Here's some photos of the 315 Nittos & Solid-Axle swap (all-wheel-disc 8.8" out of a '95 Cobra, IIRC; with Tubular Upper & Lower Control Arms -- thanks to saleencoupe93, Hurstmeister, & Kailuaz for the parts to make the swap work)!!!!!!
Pay no mind to the mis-colored bumper, lol. This was a great upgrade over the "black widow bodykit" bumper that was on it when Eddie got the car
Blown IRS:

...and last but not least, the aforementioned fugly bumper

I know Lil Eddie's got a ton of goals and plans for this car. Some of them include a new set of head & tail lights, a different wing, and some new drag racing inspired shocks/struts/springs! The kid's got racing running through his veins!!!!! Anyways, if you guys see any steals on some of these parts, be sure and let us know
Car looks good. Your right, the bumper is a nice improvement over what was on it. even in its current condition. lol
You guys gotta lose that spoiler and those tail lights too though. Bleh
You should look into getting the sideskirts off of a bullitt or 03-04 cobra though. GT side skirts look kind of funny with that 03 front bumper. Just my .02
Still an awesome project. +1 on keeping the kid safe. That is a whole lot of car.

Yeah, we have been looking for either an '03 Cobra Wing, or Saleen Wing & also been trying to locate a set of OEM Cobra Tails. Precision is gonna tint them up and we'll get the rear bumper either replaced with an '03, or just get this one repainted. We'll see, being only 14 (almost 15) - he changes his mind daily
Here's a few more shots that I took w/my cell phone:

The car is uber sexeh w/the 315's on it now, and all the wheels matching finally! I can't tell you how much work we did to it yesterday with claying & waxing it. The three of us worked for like 5 hours straight, lol. But it's worth it, the car came out great! We've still got to clay the trunk lid, spoiler, and rear quarter panels. Then wax them also. And we wanna get all the black trim repainted a nice oem sheen black. All in due time, right?
My Uncle painted the gas tank black this morning after seeing the photos of it on here
Said he just had to paint it!!! Looks muy better!
