Let the resurrection begin...
Looks good Josh..... The last couple cages I painted we used the hammered finish in a quart can and brushed it on..... Its much easier to get all aroud the bars without runs and you don't get gasssed out like when sraying.....
If you decide to try brushing it on just make sure you get a good brush so bristles don't fall out and get stuck in the paint.....

Damn, that would have been a good idea... Couple days late Frank
Not sure on color still... I've already bought the charcoal hammered paint - just not sure of keeping it... I see the general consensus is that gloss black is the way to go - I'm still not sold on that idea. Sure it'd be nice, and clean, and all that. But let's be honest: I just spent a ton of money to have a badass cage put into the car by Chad at Racing Innovations - I'd like it to speak volumes about itself and about the company that did the install for me, so that it would generate (hopefully/potentially) more business for them!! Which is why I would like for the cage to not just "blend in" per se...
Ah, oh well, I'm headed out to the driveway now to get popping... Pics forthcoming... Feel free to call and or drop by - I'll be out there the rest of the day probably

Here is the rust rot that I mentioned that I found... Nothing that terrible, but looks like it was caused from a previously leaking windshield at some point in the cars 19 years

Here is the modified Tubular Driveshaft Loop that Racing Innovations did for me (it was simply a bolt-on prior):

Steeda Tubular Subframes welded on by Racing Innovations:

Wild Rides Torque Box Reinforcement Kits (Upper & Lower) also installed by Racing Innovations:

Here's the custom Tubular Tranny X-Member that Racing Innovations fabbed up and installed for me:

Decisions, Decisions
Cage Color???? Thread: https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/f...age-color.html
No effing clue if I wanna do Flat Black, Hammered Silver, or Hammered Charcoal
Here's some pics from today to see what I've been experimenting with to see which I want to stick with:

Cage is primered and into paint... Here is how it sits for now, until next weekend anyways:

And this is what my goal is for the finished product of the cage (silver with the charcoal hammered misted over it) :

Well not much to "update" as of late - due to the agreement that wifey and I made. I promised to stop spending money on the car until we bought a house... So we'll see how quickly I can find a house
Anyways, I spent some time with the claybar, polish, and of course Frankie today.... Here are the results:

I ran out of daylight, energy and polish. So I'll have to resume this on another occassion unfortunately! And I definitely have to make my way back down to R/I very soon to get some more shiz done!!
