Hello TR, I just wanted to know if anyone have achieved to get a civic EF sun roof to open like a CRX, EG, or DC. I know the size of the hole are different but wondered if the four mounting studs that hold the glass on a civic EF would bolt up to the rails of a CRX, EG, OR DC. I am asking because many Civic EF owners would like to have a spoiler sun roof in their hatch but they never came like that. If the Civic EF glass bolts up to a CRX, EG or DC rail, maybe one could modify the CRX, EG, or DC rails to fit in a Civic EF.

I have researched but have not found any information.

The only reason the CRX came like that is because there isn't enough roof in a CRX to tuck it away like the hatch and sedan. As for fitment, I've never had the opportunty to view them side-by-side. Always only had one or the other.

 

That is the problem I will run into with the project I have in mind. I am trying to make an EF Coupe and wanted a sunroof to call it a Civic Ex. The problem is that by making it a coupe, the roof will not be long enough for the sunroof to hide underneath. This is why I am trying to somehow modify a civic EF sunroof to open like a CRX.

 

Have you thought about just cutting the roof out of the CRX and graftin it into the "Coupe type" roof?

 

I have. I have also thought of doing the same with an EG sunroof, this way I will have a glass sunroof and avoid the rust. I just do not know how the finish product would actually look like. I do not want to have a little bump right before the sunroof.
