Personally I feel the pro3 cam maybe too large for your application.
I never had a problem with pro3 cams before. i used them on a build i had for my friend which was 14:1 c/r and had no issues

here is a setup i did for my friend with pro3s and 11.5:1 c/r. it made 231hp and it idled at 1000rpms without shutting off, surging, fluctuating or anything.

a lot of people swear you need crazy compression to run these cams, but dont listen to anybody unless you try something out for yourself. the one thing my old teacher told me is to never listen to the people that says "they say" like "they say you shouldnt use that oil on this motor" or "they say you should have smaller slicks for that setup" and etc

of course its not together anymore lol. we get bored quick we up'd the compression to 12.5:1. im going to see if i can get in contact with him or anybody that i tuned with pro3s, so i can take a vid of the car idling.

for now this is the closest thing

YouTube - NY street race

if you go to the 2:15 mark you can kind of tell that the idle is low because in that vid the car is open header and its quiet. (dont listen to those kids in the end of the vid, idk who they are)

UPDATE (10/27/09):

I got the valve from Erynn and installed it already so the head is good to go now.

The pistons just came in.

Still waiting for the rods to come in but anyways the next step is off to sleeve the block.
