Default Turbo question?

I've seen a turbo i would like to buy. IT looks like a 16g but the blade inside looks like one from a 20g? It's that posssible at all. Also he said the shop that build that turbo called this turbo a "22g". It is a very nice set up.

22G? 20G is too big of a fit into a TD05H compressor housing so anything bigger is gonna be wicked inefficient, thats like trying to stuff a 57 trim into a T25 shell, stick with what works, you'll be happier that way

Yes, I'am very familiar with the 22G, It is a big 16G compressor housing bored and honed out to fit a Garret 22 wheel in it!

They also do the same with the Garret 24 wheel, They weld a sleeve onto the inlet and then bore it out to the specs of the new sleeve!

This is more commonly done by Dave, that used to have a shop called Majestic Turbo's

This turbo works pretty good, but has the same limits as a 16G, but moves more air/psi of boost.

makes great pwr down low!!!!

I used to have one

if its got the same limits as a 16G, then your better off getting a 16G, if you know how to tune and drive, you can hit 12.0's or better with supporting mods, call me boring, but im one of those guys who likes to use whats proven to work, and not to be a guinea pig to see if it might work or might not

sounds like the 16g would be more responsive, I would go with a 6cm 16g if you want responsive. I ran 12.3s at 114mph with one in my full weight 2g fwd

If your going for ET s, go with a big 16G, very responsive
If your going for a traffic terror instant spool up street animal go with the 22G

I started with a 22G and ended up going to the big 16G, now I'am going to a Green copy cat "PTE SCM50" Turbo, but this is on the Girls car!

My Turbo is GT35R
