Default boost is to low...

well I am helping a friend put a td05h into a civic and well with the whole of it done and car started and checked for leaks we are only getting about 1lbs. out of the turbo it has a blitz BOV and a rather big IC about 8inch. high,and 3foot across I think its to big for this application but also Im not a turbo owner and would like so input so thanks in advance guys&gals

you dont think the size of the IC is afecting it???Im going to have him cut out the IC and run a str8 pipe to conect, I dont know where or who he got the IC from but I just get this gut feeling that its the problem...also thanks john

3 foot across, if you mean its 3 foot thick thats a damn big intercooler,god damn thats huge

wastegate stuck open or a bad leak, check for cracked hoses or loose clamps

trust me thats the first thing I said to him "its to much space to boost" I am going to bypass it tomarow and give that a shot I got him a smaller IC that would work great but NOOOO it had to be for looks....Owell I should be able to sway him another way besides the big ass IC

pull the turbo off and check for cracks in the wastegate passage, i had some trouble with that before, wouldn't go past like 9 psi, after fixing it, without a boost controller, it went up to liek 16 or so psi on the stock wastegate pressure, check that out, and as stated above, pre-turbo exhaust leaks pwn you
