Im torn right now.
Currently Ive been building up my car for a supercharger but the more I think about it the more I want the tuneabiltiy (is that a real word?) of a turbo kit and the power it brings.

If I go the turbo route are there any competant installers in the area? Also Id like to supervise the install or at least check up on it periodically. I dont like the thought of just leaving my baby in the hands of strangers.

The only shop in Tampa that is willing to do a turbo without saying if you really want me to is Spec-R. All the others will do it but they dont seem interested. I am currently deciding between Spec-R and a small shop in Lakeland.

Spec-R IS doing my clutch though.

What kinda car do you have?

Ive got a 98 Civic Ex coupe.
Went to one of those BK meets a short while back. Had the green civic with the black valve cover hood locks an some other crap.

Im buying an ACT clutch/flywheel from them sometime in August (they had the best prices around) but I doubt Ill get it installed there. $250 for an install is pretty steep plus they cited OSHA (spelling?) regulations saying that I couldnt supervise the install which sucks.
Dont know where Ill find the time to do it but Ill just do it myself....man I hate working on transmissions....

As for the Turbo install Im keeping Spec-R in mind. If I go the turbo route I want to make absolutely certain that whoever is installing it is the best around.

This Neal guy is he any good?
Where does he work at?

Ive gotta install a clutch/flywheel soon and if possible Id like someone to do it for me...for a good price. So far everyone wants to charge WAAAAAY to much for this simple job so as it stands looks like Ill be doing it.

hey bill

first off 250 for a clutch install is on par if not cheaper than you will find other places. seccond OSHA and INSURANCE regs. DO prevent people from being in certain areas of of businesses...its not bs...just a way of life. have you ever pulled a tranny out of a honda?? ever done a clutch?? For a good mechanic in a shop its not that bad of a job but without a lift and air tools you are gonna have one helluva job on your hands. plus what are you gonna do about a disk alignment tool?

lastly spec-r did the clutch in my teg and their work was excellent...you might want to reconsider letting them do the clutch for you...also they would be able to dyno tune your car if you have the turbo installed there.
