Default Remote bottle opener VS. Solinoid opener

Which would you guys suggest and what are the pro's and con's to each. Had a customer ask me this question and honestly I've never dealt with n2o before so I wanted to ask you guys. Any comments will be appreciated and passed on.

Kris

IMO i like the auto valve opener

The NOS brand remote opener is a solenoid opener. It sucks IMO. Its just s shuttle valve inline before the main feed line. There are still connections that could leak down between the bottle and the opener, not to mention the opener itself. That NOS valve also is quite restrictive and can only flow a medium amount of juice (maybe 250 shot). The NX,ZEX, Cold Fusion and others that mount to the top of the valve and physically turn the valve are better IMO. But they can be finicky and they require removal each time you want the bottle filled. So its a hassle as well.

I dont use an opener. I just ensure that all my nitrous lines are leak free by using a product called Snoop. do a google search for it. Its just fancy spray on leak detector but it works very well and will identify a very light leak. To fix leaky connections I use something called SECO seals. Its a dead soft aluminum flare gasket that goes over the male AN fitting. When I leave to go out for the night I turn the nitrous on and leave it on all night with no worry of leak down. Then purge and close the bottle at the end of the night. But if you must have a remote opener...the NX,Zex or others of that type are my personal preference.

NOS Has created a Zex style "handle turning" bottle opener. It is relativly new. If you go to Modacar.com they have it on there. Hybrid, this kid is looking for more of a coming home from work and someone decides to mess with him so he wants to just spray then and then shut it off. I personally think the remote bottle opener and not the solinoid would be the way to go. But then again thats why I was asking.

Mike this is the solinoid style I'm refering to http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33740

Thanks for the help and more insight will be greatly appreciated!

Kris...that one you posted from ebay looks pretty good. Just have to be sure that the fittings between the bottle and the opener are leak free since the bottle valve will be open all the time. Looks like it has a big enough orifice as well. Looks good and the price is right.

Kris,

You've seen the set-up I have on my Civic. It's the NX one. Very easy to use and I've never had a problem with it. When opening the bottle the gear actually has a clucth in it so you don't have to worry about it burning up unless your a complete retard.
