Awesome...thanks...Yeah the IS300 is just a tricky lil car...everything is an electrical nightmare...But we will see how it turns out...Still need to put 1k miles on it before i can crank the boost to 30psi on the dyno...But just want to keep my options open...

Matt,

Well you obviously have SOME reservations about taking your car there or you would not be asking us OUR opinions and experiences here on this board. If you were as confident in the shops ability as you claim to be there would be no need for this post. I am not trying to be a prick...and i have no hidden agenda with this post as i do not know you. I am just trying to point out why you have gotten the responses you have so far.

Lastly, As billy said I am VERY experienced in tuning Haltech. My 240 holds the national Stock block HP record for SR20's (539) and i tune it using Haltech. if you are unsatisfied for any reason with the tuning that AutoTuner does for you please feel free to give us a call and i will be able to get it tuned correctly for you.

Good luck and keep us posted!
Scott

Well the reason I am iffy is because we made such a quick switch from Toyomoto to Auto Tuner...Toyomoto just was too far and too much of a hassel to get in contact with and we didnt feel right with the situation...So i contacted Adam(Auto Tuner) as he made a post on www.is300.net regarding IS300 turbo's and i saw some of his work and it was cheaper, and they sponsored me for a free supra TT shortblock and SC300 head...So it was more like...Id be stupid not to go...Not to mention they that my car is #1 priority there until its done...So I just didnt have time to think it over...It was just the right thing to do. So they picked the car up from Slamfest and started work...My only doubting feeling was the tunning...It seems with this car tunning is crucial...The car cannot do over 20 psi without C16....like some cars....and fuel seemed to be a risky factor ...as you obviously have to know the car well to tune it well...I am their first Boosted IS300 they worked on and am just a lil uneasy at this point...Everything they have done so far has been top notch...But all will show on the dyno...I guess im just a nervous owner which I shouldnt be...and everyone on here is usally pretty blunt and honest so thats why i posted here...I dont mind criticism when its done where its needed...I have the Haltek E6-k in there...and I will def stop by SS to show you guys once its done...Since you are a wiz with the Haltek maybe you can squeez some more outta it...I just havent learned the whole process of advancing the timing on the laptop for C16 and all that...Does anyone see where I am comming from ...or is everyone still lost?

i think we are all clear. you are just worried about your baby. everyone is when their car is in the shop...or trying something that is new. i tuned lots of cars...but none was more nerve rackign than tunign my OWN car to the record. my hands were shaking i was so nervous.

One of my questions:

why are you so worried about the motor if you have a TT shortblock? they are very stout and as long as the shop starts conservative and works their way up from there you should have no problems. I have seen lots of TT supras run mroe than 20 psi on race gas that was less than C-16. C-16 is a very good fuel, but not always necessary. unless i am missing a hidden factor like the SC head bumps the compression to 9.5 or something??

well anyway, i have no experience with the shop you took the car to. but generally, if they screwed somethign up big time...and didnt take care of the owner. you would have heard about it on the internet by now. as you know the www is a very unforgiving place.

auto tuner does good work.

there are 3 big supra/mr2/toyota shops in orlando. whichever you choose will probably yeild about the same results, just depends on your schedule, their schedule, and how much you want to spend.

Like he said Larry is the man when it comes to 2JZ motors. GTE or GE. He did Hulk Hogans Supra as well as many other monsters in the area. The NA block is the same as the TT just without the oil squirters but its nice they are giving you a new one. As for the SC headas long as they put a 3mm headgasket in 20+psi should be no problem on C-16, shit I run 24 psi on 100 octane. Any way sounds like its going to be One bad IS, can't wait to see it on the street...
